A user told me how to do it an I was wondering if this would mess up my computer ot is she telling the truth?

[Report Message] Go to tools, internet options, security, custom security, disable scripting and scripting of Java, and restart Internet.
For mozillla just click internet options and disable java.

it wouldn't mess up you computer but it would make the internet less functional without java some links and buttons wouldn't work as well as some graphic effects.
try it you'll see what I mean you can allways re-enable it later
