For me, Reagan no question about it.

Because I remember the 70's, how the country felt,
-we were down, demorilized, just watch the movie "Miracle" about the US Hockey team with beat the USSR team in the 1980 Olimpics and you will get a glimpse of how bad things were.
-no respect in the world which made the arabs embolden and resulted with the gas embargo of the late 70's hence the gas lines here back then.
-Our military demorilized after Nam "getting high", and even failing in the hostage crisis recue attempt in Iran.
-Democracy in retreat ,
-the Soviets embolden, crushing Eastern Europe and taking over the world like their invasion of Afghanistan, the takeover by commies of south America like Nicaragua and El Salvador, and leftist guerillas in Colombia, etc.

*Then Reagan came over in 1980, and turned the country around, making people proud of been American again, rebuilding the military BIG time, military rebuild we largely can still feel today since it was under his initiative that he bought a lot of the weapons sytems we used later to win the 91 war fast and efficiently, and even now the defense shield been deploy against rogue states with nuke missiles is the result of work begun under his Star War system, a lot of people gave him a lot of crap about that weapons program but Reagan was just 20 years ahead of the times!! Also the Star Wars program combine with the the arms race with the soviets broke the soviet economy already streched thin with their invasion of Afghanistan, etc.

*Later his turn around of the country resulted in an overwhelming reelection in 1980 with the simple question "are you better off than you where 4 years ago" and almost the ENTIRE country said yes!!!! I remember election night the election maps of the country were almost completely in his side, only one state when over to the democrats back then.

*He had bad flaws in his administration, and I think a lot of it because he was gettting pretty old towards the end and could not keep up with some of the things going on around him, but overall I think he was a great President, his time was up and he needed to retire, but his "Big Picture" understanding of what needed to be done witht he country and the world was right on the mark!

*He took us from "Detente", basically the response of the western democratic world to the soviet attrocities of "well as long as you do not disturb our tea party" take on things back then with the soviets to "no, you guys are just bad and we need to take you down!!"

He was no puss..., he was tough and I love that!!

His stance against soviet oppression od Eastern Europe and calling them for what they were "An evil Empire" gave new life to the resistance there against the soviet bear oppressing people there, together with Maggy in England and the Pope John Paul, they fought comunism from outside the monster and the inside and brought it down.

Liberals hated and still hate him becuase the "anything goes" crap that was going on in the 70's came to an end. And the appeacement to comunism was terminated.

And lots more great things that overcome big time any negative crap that also happened back then.

Again Big Picture...and he was right on it!

Now that is pretty good in my book!

Well, I wasn't around for Lincoln, Ben, but I do agree with your choices. Reagan is my favorite. He was a good man and a good President. I didn't know T. Roosevelt either, but he was a man's man from what I have read.

William Jefferson Clinton

Best Economy,
Gas $1.47 A gallon,
No wars,
U.S. of A. was respected throughout the whole world,

And I wasn't the only one who liked him....

In the wake of the House of Representatives' approval of two articles of impeachment, Bill Clinton's approval rating has jumped 10 points to 73 percent, the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows.

That's not only an all-time high for Clinton, it also beats the highest approval rating President Ronald Reagan ever had.

Reagan, he made tax cuts, and ended the Cold War. Also, he backed up what welfare was originally meant to do, help "the needy, not the greedy."
