I've recently bought a Mac, and i've had it for about 3 months, it didn't have internet however, but everything was running quietly and smoohly. I just got nternet about 2 days ago, and still everything ran perfectly. It was a little while ago where it started making this really loud noise... like a vacuum. It nevere did that before. What could that possibly be? I hope it's not a virus.

not a virus....sounds like the fan kicking into high gear because of the load put on the pc from the programs you are running
not a whole lot you can do besides getting and installing a new fan....i would check it for just and get some canned duster or use a blow dryer on low heat to clean out the case

hope it helps

Is it a mac mini???? Mine does it to. The fan speed increases with an increase in load. (go to terminal and type in top for a list of all your processes and in the upper right you will see load)

Why does it happen when you are on the internet and not when you are not on the Internet...

Load a page with Flash:

http://abc.go.com/

and your mac will scream close the page and it will return to normal. If it really bothers you remove flash.

It could be a number of things, but just so you know Macs don't get viruses.

Most probably its the fan or the harddrive, but its hard to tell we can't see or hear it in person.

Maybe the fan.
Do the vents need dusting?
A Can of Air will blow out the dust.
