The "pepper" used for pepper sauces like tabasco is not "pimienta", which is black pepper or peppercorns, but "pimiento" or "chile" which is like green or red peppers.

"Salsa picante" is a better response and fairly generic, but there are many types of pepper sauces with their own names depending on the pepper used.

depends.
we have a name for every sauce usually based on the chile pepper being used to make it.

Chile de Arbol
Chile chipotle
Chile Habanero
Chile Piquin
Chile verde
Chile rojo

But i think the pepper sauce your referring to would be translated to pimienta roja or capiscum
