In this day and age online information theft, I'd be very leery of giving a website my checking account number, which is what you do when you write a check. Anymore, I use checks only for local stores.

I would consider Paypal which many sites accept. You set up an password protected account. Then do a funds transfer from your checking account to your Paypal account. It does take a day to go thru. Then, when you're ready to buy something online, use your Paypal account. I've had pretty good luck with them.

Well, it depends on what you are trying to buy. There are several sites that allow this, but without knowing what you want to buy, we can't tell you.

Your best bet would be to just search for sites that sell what you want, then look in their payment options.

I believe you can use your checking account when purchasing through amazon.com.

If they accept PayPal, you can get a PayPal account, and tie it to your bank account.
