Sounds like a classic case of Browser Hi-Jacking.

You need to run Adware SE and SpyBot to correct this. Also, use FireFox as your default browser from now on.

I think you have adware on your computer. I suggest you get Adaware from Lavasoft. This is free software and does a good job at cleaning things up. I have this on both computers. On my home computer, my home page kept getting changed to some page I never heard of. Adware was doing this by changing my registry settings.

Also, run a full virus scan of your computer for good measure.

Do all of ththe following in SAFE MODE if possible; safe mode - (click on link if "how to" steps needed)
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam

Then run = Spybot-S&D =http://www.safer-networking.org

and Ad-aware = http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=506

Then install = SpywareBlaster//SpywareGuard - Freeware = http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

If the above do not solve the problem, then go to the HijackThis section of this forum, and ask a HJT expert for help in posting a HJT log. First See The Preparation Guide found here = http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html

Follow ALL of the instructions found there. Then post your system information along with a brief description of the problems you are having, and your HJT log in the HJT forum found here = http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum22.html

For .bleepingcomputer forum

Currently at version: 1.99.1 = http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php

If it was me I would ask someone to read my HJT log(and then I'd try to figure out how I got infected in the first place in order to take preventive steps to protect myself in the future).

I wouldn't take it to the shop just yet. Download Hijackthis from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php

This will remove browser hijacking.

Also get yourself An anti adware (preferably Ad-Aware).
