At yearend 2005 there were 3,145 black male sentenced prison inmates per 100,000 black males in the United States, compared to 1,244 Hispanic male inmates per 100,000 Hispanic males and 471 white male inmates per 100,000 white males.

Most of the people in prison are people of color. It has been noted that racial make up is more even when you catergorize by economic standing. That is, the poor are much more likely to go to prison. Additionally, blacks and hispanics are more likely to be poor. Numbers don't always tell the whole story.

The racial makeup in our prisons vary, but I have read statistics that blacks are the leaders followed by whites and hispanics, and at the end is others. I don't know if these statistics have changed since I read them. You can look for them on the websites for the department of corrections. All states have their won site.

a greater percentage of Blacks and other minorities (in general) are incarcerated than whites. As far as what happens in prisons themselves, 41% are black and 34% are white; Hispanics appear to constitute the least of the prison population, at just 19%.

it would appear that Hispanics, while slightly under blacks as far as being incarcerated from the general population, are still widely unrepresented in prison itself. on the other hand, while whites are rarely sent to prison, they are second only to blacks as far as the prison population itself. both would lead me to believe that there are no straight answers as to what is going on with the racial makeup of jail, and the only real conclusion you can derive from the data, is that blacks are, #1) going to go to jail at some point in time, at least half of them anyway and #2) are going to be the dominating presence in the jail itself. at the same time, there are plenty of blacks like myself (35) who do not as much have a misdemeanor, or any record whatsoever. i can't guarantee you that i can live another 35 years without that happening but i don't necessarily foresee that ever happening either. what would i really look like, :(

Majority are young black men. The devil is targeting our youth and especially the young black youth because even Islam (Louis Farrakhan) is targeting them. They are born out of wedlock or their father left their mother. They are more likely to get involved in drugs because of the poverty condition of their family. Either their mother works all of the time or she has a live-in boyfriend who the young black mail hates. Children only want 2 parents - their mother and their father. Steps are never wanted. Steps are tolerated or steps are hated.

Put out your hand and lift up a young black youth. If every white man living the Christian life would do this, we could change the prison statistics. I doubt seriously if the black Christian male is doing this. Men in America whether black or white must start standing up for the youth of America. Stand against the schemes of the devil and his drugs, his blaspheming speach, his fornication, his envying and his greed. We are throwing our black children to the devil and our white children who escape the prison system grow up to run Enron or become Ted Bundy or John Karesh or Jim Jones or run the local porno store.

Most crime in this country is commited by non-whites.

But since they make up less then 25% that should never be.

If you don't believe me about the stats then how come whenever a black makes it and gets rich they move into an all white neighborhood?

African Americans because they often live in areas that are less affluent and more crime ridden-well I shouldnt say more crime ridden, I should say that those in the inner city or poorer areas of the cities are caught more often than those in affluent areas. The police target African Americans and Hispanics and those of the lower classes because they are often times portrayed as the threat to society & by arresting & imprisoning them it furthers the myth that those are the real threats to society.
