It's really annoyinng. It makes me look like I don't know proper english.

For example, I say "kilt" instead of killed.

Reading, listening and talking with correct speaking persons. The language is about training too.

I have the same problem at times and it mainly happens when I am around my family or friends that have the same tendency. My best advice is to first stick to one language if you are combining two. Second, practice by talking properly to those around you more. You can even rehearse from time to time on your own at home when noone is watching. This way it will become instinct. Lastly, sometimes it helps when you dont watch too much t.v. (just kidding about that one) Just practice and youll be fine.

i comprehend what you assert, yet slang on a similar time because it could dwindle away some will constantly be there and then another sort of lingo will arise. that's in simple terms the way generations ensue and a protracted time bypass - - there has constantly been "some thing" it truly is diverse and that society and fogeys do not agree approximately. working example, examine out the 1950's, you had the "greasers". (denims, white t-shirts, leather-based jackets, greased returned hair). They weren't the norm. We, who evaluate ourselves "favourite" will in simple terms could experience it out. that's in simple terms the way life is going.

When you are alone, practice saying things the right way so it will become a habit and you will be more likely to use less slang.

"Think before you speak." Its a popular saying and its true.

As for not knowing proper English, I think slang shows you are your own person. If everyone said "whom, thus, and thee" then life would be boring. I think I would commit suicide.

Everytime you make a mistake, correct yourself and say it the right way. Eventually you'll stop using the wrong way. I used to say "Me I.." a lot but I don't anymore.
