People in Bosnia speak BOSNIAN. (Not Croatian, Serbian or Serbo-Croatian as some people answered! And these languages are not the same! But I wont go into details on that, that wasnt your question.)
How do you say hello,"? - Kako se kaze zdravo? - just read the letters as they are written :)
"How was your day?" - Kakav vam je bio dan?

It's Bosnian. To make it simple: Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian and Montenegrine are just dialects of one same language but due to politics they have been declared different languages. Differences between them are slightly more than the differences between different standards of English (American, British, Australian, Canadian, Irish...) but still most of the words are same, though there are words that exist in one of these languages and are not understood by speakers of other 3. Call it Bosnian when you speak to Bosnians, Croatian when you speak to Croats and Serbian when you speak to Serbs. Try not to confuse because things are sensitive especially in Croatia, where you better don't call their language Serbian.
How do you say hello = kako se kaže selam
Hello = pozdrav, selam, prijatno
How was your day = kako ti je prošao dan
but it's better to use "kako si" (how are you) or "šta ima" (what's up)
some more simple pharses:
I'm a Bosnian = ja sam Bosanac
where do you come from = odakle si
where do you live = gdje živiš / gdje stanuješ
thank you = hvala
you're welcome = nema na čemu
please = molim
sorry = izvini, halali

Depends on whom you ask. Bosniaks (Muslim) in Bosnia will call it Bosnian, but Christians will not. Serb Christians will call it Serbian and Croatian Christians will call it Croatian. it is pretty much the same language, expect that Croatians and Muslims are making up their own words know trying to artificially segregate their language from the Serbian language.
Here are some useful words:
hi/hello/bye = ciao (like in Italian)
thanks = hvala
how are you? = kako si?

Bosnian (bosanski jezik is a South Slavic language native to Bosniaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian-dominated region of Sandžak (in Serbia and Montenegro) and elsewhere. It is one of the standard versions of the Central-South Slavic diasystem.
The Bosnian alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet. The Cyrillic alphabet is accepted (chiefly to accommodate for its usage in Bosnia in the past, during the time of former Yugoslavia), but seldom used in today's practice. The name Bosnian language is the commonly accepted name among Bosniak linguists, and the name used by the ISO-639 standard.

It's a Serbo-Croatian language that has developed some unique expressions and thus slightly varies from Serbo-Croatian. In fact, Serbian and Croatian have "split" in two as well, due to different accents and new expressions adopted.
It's all one and the same language, though.
