I think the whole "dumb blonde" thing started with Marilyn Munroe. She just acted ditzy for the men, and it kinda stuck with blondes being dumb. Blondes are in no way smarter or dumber than any other person. The colour of the hair is just genetics, being smart comes from education.

It's a stereotype so while I'm pretty sure your not going to find any proof but Paris Hilton and the like didn't help matters any!
