What a horrible ***** thing to say.
I was raped twice and it didn't anger me but it had led me to believe sex needs to be rough and disgusting to enjoy it.
To make matters worse what your teacher said is what my own mother said to me when she found out.

I too am a victim of rape and it is not a situation that you "get over" quickly. The statement was wrong and it totally shows her intelligence is skewed. She may be a victim too and feel that her situation takes precedence over all others. She may even be a victim of incest. I don't know what makes people minimize others' situations and trivialize them but I do know it is insensitive and wrong. Leave it alone sister. Don't take it personal. Forgive her for she knows not what she does... or she does and is just an ignorant.. disconnected *****.

She was wrong to say that. I do not think how violated rape victims are to be forced into a situation where you are totally powerless and vunerable. To me, there is nothing worse than being raped because the mental and emtional effects it has on people. I think that she was ingornant and very ill-informed on the dsubject and should not have made that comment. i am very sorry that happen to you, and I hope that therapy is helping come to terms with it. I hope that you do not hate all men for what one jerk did to you.

I agree with her.
I was raped, I got angry depressed and all the joy that comes with it but I got over it
I had to for my sanity.
If I didn't, I most certainly would not be here typing this.
There are worse things in life than getting raped, I can
assure you.
Rape is a disgusting violation and what happened to you is just dreadful but i'm not a victim and neither should you be
I am Me.

She is ignorant and not very mature , if she was raped i doubt she would feel so nonchalant about the situation
but i think you have to put some things behind you in order to move on in life it was a terrible thing that happen to you maybe you should try talking to a professional about it and they can help you make sense of your behavior and help you move to the next chapter not all men are Bad
Good luck to you

You're right to think that she is rude. She's more than rude. I would be sooooo mad at her if she said that. If you want to confront her about it, ask her if she would want to get over it if someone raped her. Have her put herself in the shoes of someone who's been raped. How would she feel? Probably horrible and would feel the same way if some one said that rape victims just need to get over it.

I wouldn't have blamed you for slapping that trick. She sounds like she needs it...
Anyway...I was raped too. I wasn't as young as you were though. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I was a little older, and I knew the guy who raped me. I kind of see where your teacher is coming from too, because even though I haven't had sex since being raped, I know many girls who've been raped, and who are, unfortunately, promiscuous.

I agree with you. She was stupid and ignorant. No one can expect you or anyone else that was violated to get over something like that. What you can do is decide if you will be a victim or a victor. I commend you for the strength that I can feel you have inside you. I pray that things will get better for you in time. My best wishes for you.

People respond to traumatic experiences in different ways, and it can be difficult for us to understand the responses of others. Some rape victims do want to put their experience behind them as quickly as possible and move on, but most have to cope with intense emotions and anxiety that may take many years to resolve. Either way, nobody should be blamed for their response. Your classmate's comment was unimaginative and thoughtless.

That was an extremely stupid thing for her to say. She obviously can't relate to being a rape victim so she should have kept her stupid mouth shut even if she is stupid enough to believe that someone can "just get over it".

She may have been a rape victim also, and just deals with it in a different way (by being in denial). That was rude and WRONG for her to say though.
