I am just wondering, for those who use ebay and paypal have you ever had bad experience with either of them? Like i know paypal can freeze your account for no reason I have heard horror stories and i have had problems. And ebay fees just keep getting larger.

If there was a new site like ebay and paypal that was completely 100 percent free would you make the switch?

Just wondering!

thanks

I have never had a really bad experience. I have had some purchases not go exactly as planned but the seller has always worked it out.

I have never known anyone to have their Paypal account frozen either. I have heard some of the same horror stories but I know a few different people who buy and sell a lot of stuff on Ebay and I have never heard them tell me one of these stories.

For a 100% free site, I would be a little hesitant. My first question is how does the site make their money. No one is going to host something as complicated as an auction site without wanting to make some money off of it. I would feel a little less secure on that site. I would be expecting the owners of the site to slip something into the agreement somewhere to get themselves more money. Also, I would not count on that site being around for very long. All it would take is a single equipment malfunction and they would be busted. If I were selling stuff on the site, I would want to know that the site was going to be around.

I use both, but I use eBay more frequently and pay by Money Order whenever I can. Never had a problem with either.

I, too, would be hesitant to use a free auction site for the same reasons someone else stated.

I use both frequently. I think that the only company which could develop a viable alternative is Google; their online payment service works quite well, and I could see them creating a viable competitor to Ebay as well.

I've just had one bad experience with Ebay; my account was suspended by half.com for a bogus reason and it took me two weeks just to find out what the reason was. Their customer support is not very good.

I have been using both since 1996...and never had a single issue to date.

I would not switch just because these are two best established online. For all the millions of transactions they handle, there is bound to be a hiccup or two...or maybe even a hundred...but think about all the flawless transactions nobody ever complains about. JMO
