Had a hysterectomy on Thursday, and still can't urinate! I am able to defecate (poop) and have had absolutely NO trouble with that at all. So, what's the deal? I am having to catheterize myself everytime I have to pee and quite frankly that can't be good, especially after 5 days. What can I do? I've tried taking a hot shower, running water, blowing bubbles in a cup, putting my hand in warm water, etc. Nothing works. Any suggestions would be wonderfully accepted. The best answer is the one that WORKS. I have to be back in classes on Monday, and it'll be a major pain if I have to catheterize myself between classes, etc.

relax
set up your bathroom so that when you go it will be like a spa. set up candles, maybe some soothing incense and maybe play some music. i know this sounds silly but i find if i'm having trouble peeing it's because i'm not relaxed.
