Hi,

Hep C is a blood to blood disease. If someone's blood touches an open wound on you, or if you are having sex and you have a cut on your vagina and the other person does too, it can be passed. Other than that it is pretty hard to catch...for example..if a person has a husband with hep C and the wife does not, if they have a child together the baby will not have it , and the mother won't as long as there was no blood to blood contact. Now, if the mom has it, the baby has a big chance of having it as well. You can look this up on web md.

It's a bloodbourne illness... so IV drug use, unprotected sex and exposure to contaminated needles (i.e. tattoos).
