"I was" is the past tense of to be. Use it for something factual.
I couldn't work last week because I was sick.
"I were" is present conditional to describe something that is not true now.
If I were president (which I am not, obviously), I would not order a tax rebate.
"I had been" is the conditional past tense.
If I had gone to the last Olympic, I would have won a medal.

"I was" is the correct form in the indicative mood; I were is the past subjunctive - "If I were rich I would buy a car" - but in modern colloquial English it is (sadly) hardly used.
In the north of England, it is quite common for "I/he/she/it were" to be used as the past indicative, but this is considered a regionalism.

We use I was as a past tense such as I was born in Jakarta. We use I were if it is not in a reality such as If I were you I will marry her.as soon as possible.

Depends.
In the indicative mood, it's 'I was' for the past tense.
In the subjunctive, it's 'I were' for the past tense.
If the statement is factual, use the indicative - "I was born in Michigan." (true for me)
If the statement is contrary to fact, use the subjunctive - "If I were you, I wouldn't eat all of those candy bars."

It is "i was". "was" is used for one person and "were" is used when they are more people.
Are you the sort of person who wants to learn English? I'm glad. Good Luck!
