What loft should I rent in downtown Los Angeles?

I'd prefer to spend not much more than $1500 a month. Less - with a decent neighborhood - would be great.

I know they are really pushing down town. Go drive around there at night about midnight. Just drive from each off ramp from the 101,10, 110, Also drive on each of the side street you would need to take if there was a closure.
