Uh, I don't think that's true. I know this because I worked for a year at a house for delinquent teenagers in NYC. Two of the residents during my time there were mildly retarded and they were both as mean as snakes. Virtually all of these kids regardless of IQ were from "disadvantaged" backgrounds which is of course a euphemism for violent families and brutal neighborhoods.

On the other hand I've also worked with MR clients from middle-class backgrounds and they were usually very sweet in a childlike sort of way. That's the kind of retarded people you're thinking of, right? The explanation for the difference between the two groups is simple:

Middle-class Whites tend to protect and baby the retarded as a result of which they stay childlike. Underclass people are the exact opposite. They just regard retardation as a form of weakness marking it's sufferers as easy marks to be exploited or bullied. As a result of such treatment, their retarded are if anything meaner than the average.

It's not pretty but it's reality....

My sister works with a whole household of them. Some of them bite, scratch, lie, defaecate on other's belongings when they're mad at them, etc. I could go on and on. Some of them are nice, but some of them are really nasty. They're just like normal people in that respect.
