That's because most Americans are British-Americans. I, for example, had great-grandparents who immigrated to the US from Ulster, and they were of Ulster-Scots descent, so I am a Scottish-Irish-American. I also had some relatives who were English, so I am also an English-American. Most people I know have a little Irish in them, and some Irish people still consider themselves Irish. There aren't too many Welsh-Americans I have met, but they number in the millions here. Most Scottish and English- Americans live in the American South.

I guess it has to do with America being a British colony, Irish immigration, and other historical falacies like that. We all really know the truth is we sprang right up out of the ground here in America. Maybe what you're getting at is why do Americans try to attach to some cultural identity when they are so far removed from the source. Some people like to have an idea of personal historical connection since America melted it all down I guess. Why do people in the upper midwest eat Norweigian food at festivals, or listen to Polka music in places? Because it's part of their cultural heritage, that's why.

nicely, i imagine it really is about what a particular team should be called. no longer all darkish everybody is from Africa, so African American will no longer be suitable. Many Latins are of Spanish historic past and community individuals also opt to be prevalent as First individuals. White people ought to larger powerful be prevalent of as eu individuals because there are various international locations with white people, yet then i be conscious of a few black people from England, what can we call them? i imagine the major reason there are categories is because the authorities needs to shop music of people's races and the way it impacts their means to get a job, flow to college, and so on. We likely ought to flow faraway from giving communities labels if there wasn't a lot bigotry in the international.

Because many of us have traced our family tree to the point where we know we had relatives that came over from England. Do you have a problem with that? Most Americans are descended from those who came to the colonies anyway.
