Why is it that despite the fact that we're friends and allies with Filipinos, most of them hate "our kind"

They say we should just leave the Philippines and forget about the "Balikatan" exercises because they say our soldiers are "raping their women."

It's a love-hate relationship. It's like being married to someone who has all the power in the relationship. All the presidents in the Philippines are in some way endorsed by the U.S. in order to stay in power and if you ever go to the Philippines, McDonald's and Starbucks are everywhere.The largest university was patterned from Harvard. There was even a time when kids have to pay some amount of money as a fine if they ever spoke their own language instead of english. The Filipinos dress like americans, think like americans, even talk like americans and yet, they get no respect from americans. They need the U.S. so much it annoys them. But this is not unique to the Philippines. This phenomena is a pattern all over the world. Look at the French.

Here's what I know. I did some time in the USN, & there I met Filipinos for the first time. How the Fhilipinos got into the USN is a long story, but it had to deal w/ the US taking thousands of Filipinos off the street & placing them in the Navy. This was a deal in order for America to have a base in the S. Pacific, on the Philipine Islands; notably Subic Bay. While in the Navy @ that time, they, & all people of colour were prejudiced against & were only eligible for "service" jobs. Cooks, Wardroom Attendants, Laundry Svcs. & certain office related jobs, such as Disbursement ($), etc. But this prejudice backfired on the predominantly white populace. Since only the filipinos understood their language, they created a little mafia onboard, & since they were already in certain office related workplaces? You fill in the blank. Luckily, my parents taught me to treat everyone w/ resepct & thier genorosity saved my asc a few times, thanks to the Filipino Petty Officers & Chiefes.

they hate america beacuse of the imperialism, usa go there amd help, but they are taking adavantage they dont help filipinas because you guys have good heart, now some soldiers do whatever they want and rape some women, others just give them pussssyyycccatt. and they come home and they lie and said the gringo raped me..filipinos hate the americans cause they are loosing their women, but filippinas love big dickkkk. I've never experienced that. I have a lot of Filipino friends and they've never expressed to me a hatred towards Americans. They have, however, expressed an annoyance with some of the laws here that are non-existent in the Philippines.

my kids are filipino, i have filipino friends men and women, they've been nothing but nice over 20 period, i went to the philippines in 86, cebu city, it was great, strangers would just stare, one guy flipped me off on a truck with other guys though and then they laughed, other than that, no shoes no shirt no problem............... i do work with a bunch of filipino women, who are very, what's the word a little uppity and some of them are nice the ones who aren't don't talk much

hmmmm my brother in law is in Korea right now /army/ and he says there are a ton of Philipine people over there, they are very friendly ;)
