its better to be friends with people you like and who like you back. There are a lot of cliques in high school which I think happen so the cliquers feel more secure knowing they have close friends and don't let anyone else invade their clique or something. I take honors classes so I do like some of the 'smart nerdy' people but I don't like to hang out with them after school because they're not too fun for my taste. My good friends are anyone who will do anything random like cartwheel across the street and ask the question 'why not' more than the 'why'.

but to answer your question I hang out with punk, scene, and band geeks mostly. =]

Just try to have friends. That's what's really important. Cliques may be a fact of life, but they are immature and despised by anyone who observes them. The wise person will avoid them and just hang out with the people who you like and who like you. If some of these people are clique people, so be it, but don't confine yourself to clique rules or habits. Just relax and go with the flow.

I actually don't fit into a clique, I get along with just about everyone. For the most part. =].

But, if people were to catergorize me they would most likely put me under goth/punk/emo.

"clicks" occur at any and every stage of life...

I was in the band, even though I should have and could have played football at the same time.

I now count myself as a hard-working blue collar man, I drove semi for 5 years and I am now considering going back to it.
Some would count the blue collar as a second class citizen (I saw it many times when I was OTR), but we each determine the level of maturity by how we each respond to our treatment from others.
Do not dwell on making it in a "click", the "click" will find you.

my school is really really cliquey. i used to hang out with the "cool black girls(and rich filthy white girl)" but after a year or two we all went our seperate ways since i am verrry sporty and hang out with boys i sorta became in their group- but heres the thing teenage boys are jerks and the girls at my school almost giggled me to my death. so now im what i call a "floater" im friends with everyone, and they are friends with me but i can leave whenever i want. so i decided to make my clique myself.
