I would have said that sometimes its Halloween everyday for some people, he's just celebrating early... or something along those lines. Or the oldest excuse/reason/answer "I don't know"

You are horrible for labelling this person as having an "illness"!!! Transgendered and transsexual people are not ill; it is just the way they are, and they are "people just like everyone else"; their gender orientation or sexual identity does not hurt anyone.
Shame on you for passing down your bigoted, ignorant, judgemental attitude to your innocent grandson.
Please do your research--from many different points of view, not just the Christian Science Monitor--before telling your grandson "facts".

I think you did a serious disservice to the child. Differences are not sick and should not be labelled as such.
You should open your mind, and for goodness saks, KEEP the child's mind open and not full of bigoted crap.

I don't see anything 'sick' about it. Why didn't you just tell him that some people are different? Sick is the wrong word.

You should have said some people are different. Just because some people don't conform to your idea of "normal" doesn't mean that they are sick.
