I’ve been in a relationship for 16 years now and never cheated. I love my partner and I’m not interested in sleeping with anyone else. I didn’t sleep around when I was single, so why do it now. We’re all different and we all look for different things out of life. If you’re happy seeing a few guys, then the best of luck to you.

It's a very complicated topic. Back when people were lucky to live to be 35, monogamy was less to ask for from yourself or your partner. None the less, it's an option for some of us. I "played around" plenty when I was young, my wild oats are well sewed, and I am very happy with staying with one man. But I don't judge people who are going another route, as long as no one is getting hurt.

To a certain extent it is. The problem starts when you start passing on diseases or having to get paternity tests because you don't know who the father of the child is. I think monogamy is more important now than it ever ways simply because of the disease factor. I know way to many women who got an STD from their cheating spouse. And paternity tests are expensive.

I dont know statistics on how many have cheated.

I disagree that being with one person for a lifetime is overrated. I wouldnt share myself with anyone but my husband. I've never had the urge to stray, and I feel sorry for people that do.

There are valid positions both for and against monogamy. It's a choice you ultimately make. I made my choice. But I am not about to judge someone else unless they are hurting others by their actions.
