Test for the nitrate ion - indicates nitric acid - and the sulphate ion - indicates sulphuric acid.
to a dilute solution of nitic acid add piece of aluminium foil followed by sodium hydroxide and heat. Test for ammonia - smell (smells of smelling salts) and action on litmus, turns litmus blue.
to a dilute solution of sulphuric acid, add barium chloride follwed by dilute hydrochloric acid. A white ppt indicates sulphate ion present and hence sulphuric acid.

Add a drop of unknown acid to paper towel. If it turns brown, it is nitric acid. If it turns black it is sulphuric acid.

you can't. it's both clear. read label. it's unsafe to use any strong acid without reading it's msds. and don't trust someone just by word unless they are very experience
