Is it A,B,C,D, OR E?
A) The energy of photon 2 is greater than photon 1.
B) The frequency of photon 2 is greater than photon 1.
C) The sign of the energy of photon 1 is the opposite of the sign of the energy of photon 2.
D) The wavelength of photon 2 is greater than photon 1.
E) The mass of photon 2 is greater than the mass of photon 1.

(...photon 2.) What can you say about photon 1 and photon 2?

Photon 1 causes a change of 7 levels. Photon 2 is emitted from a change of 5 levels. Therefore Photon 1 has more energy, or a higher frequency or a lower wavelength.

Negative energy doesn't exst, energy is produced or consumed (any negative energy in an equation is just for bookkeeping). All photons are massless.

So A,B,C and E are wrong.

D is correct.

Well, it's definitely not E, since photons have no mass.

I'm going to go with D, though I'm not sure why. If someone says something differently, they're probably right.
