I guess it would really depend on how big the room you'll be in is. I know that I prefer a queen size bed, with or without company, as I love sleeping in the middle of a big bed! But if the room you'll be moving into is small, I'd say stay with the twin bed, because you'll feel cramped. And when living with roommates, it's a good idea to have some space of your own to get away from the others when you need your own time and space. If you have a twin bed, you'll have room for a comfy chair or small couch or one of those 2 people chairs, which are fantastic! It'll give you the space to feel like you have your own living area in your room and if you want to have a friend in your room, you'll have space for them to sit and hang out. And you can always put your twin bed up against a wall and turn it into a daybed (like a couch) by putting cushions up against the wall, like a couch. Which means not only will you have your own room, but you'll also have your own living room!
If you have a large enough room, go for the queen size bed and a comfy chair...
Enjoy your new home!

I'm going to disagree with the majority. I live by myself right now and I have a full size bed. My boyfriend stays with me almost every other night, and even with both of us in my full bed it still provides plenty of room. If and/or when we get married and get an actual house with a bit more room, that's when I'll move up to either a Queen or King size bed. If it's only you and you don't have a boyfriend coming over to crash with you, a full bed is plenty of room, and it provides room for when you do find that special someone. I say go with a full. You'll have more room and you'll still get the luxury of having a better selection of bedding, but it won't cost nearly as much as the bedding for Queen and King size beds. I don't know how big your room will be, but my bedroom in my apartment probably could hold a queen size bed, but I wouldn't have room for anything except one dresser and maybe my computer desk. My full size bed allows me to have the dresser with just drawers, my dresser with the mirror, my small entertainment center, my cd/dvd storage, and my computer desk. So, don't forget to factor in the size of the room you'll be staying in too. But anyway, I say a full should do you justice.

I always had a double bed but since moving in with my Fiance am using our Queen Size bed. The bed fits the same headboard as the double did but the Queen does give you much more room. If you are starting new, for the little bit extra room, I'd suggest a Queen Size. We have a Queen in our room..and my old double in the spare room - I much prefer the queen.

Get a queen because then you can use it later on when you do need it to share with a man in the future. The only thing that twin size beds are good for is kids and it doesn't sound like any kids are in your immediate future. They also have much cuter bedding in Queen and king sizes, good luck.

Whether you sleep alone or with someone, I would prefer a queen size. Really, there is not that much difference in the price. Just my opinion, having had both. I prefer the queen size and I sleep alone. It feels good to have enough room to use a body pillow.
