some kids developed ways to prevent cellphones from being snatched or robbed. But will it really be effective, the loud sirens, the codes, etc? but this are all simple to manipulate, without the battery, will the siren work? with the cellphone reprogrammed in a "dead spot" area, will its gps or other gudget work? why not have it self destruct if the battery is taken out instead?

I guess PAXson doesn't realize that cellphone theft is a serious problem in the Philippines. Sure, thieves steal them everywhere, but I've never seen a place that has so many thieves who focus on cellphones. Maybe it is because nearly every Filipino owns a cellphone (rich or poor) and they are so easy to steal and resell there.

I have thought about this issue to. I think each phone should have a unique ID number that must process on the phone network in order to work. If the phone is stolen then make it so that phone either will not work OR maybe better... make it so the police can find them. Granted... cell phone theft might not be high on the police priority with so many other crimes going on. Maybe a private company would be interested in doing cell phone phone recovery and prosecution. I don't know, but I think if someone where to think about this problem it could be solved.
