I posted this before but didn't get any real help. I am 22 years old, I workout with heavy weights, I drink one gatorade bottle filled with protein shake after workout, and I usually drink my water/protein like all at once without stoping to taking a breath in between, I weigh about 140lbs

I have a very embarassing problem with my stool. The problem is I keep getting involuntary stool leakage down there. It has a distinct smell compared to that of my regular stool. I tried taking Metamucil/Fiber and its not much of help, I continue to get involuntary liquid stoll down there. It is making my life a living nightmare. I drink lots of water/juice to stay hydrated but If i stop drinking water, I know it will cause other problems in my body. In simpler terms, I keep getting liquid stool down there without me even knowing about it until I go to bathroom and wipe and find it there. I really need help, my life is so depressing because of it. Any help would be generously appreciate

its not really diarhea, my stool is regular, just sometimes when I am not using bathroom, I can feel something wet down there, its just the liquid substance (stool) that smells (looks like particle of stools/liquidy)

I read the answers to your previous post, and I agree with the ones who advised you to see a doctor and get examined down there. Someone needs to see if there is a fistula or hemorrhoids or a problem with your sphincter or old stool stuck in the rectum (sorry to be graphic, but that can happen). Only a medical professional, preferably a gastroenterologist, can do that for you.

In the meantime, you might want to get some sanitary pads from the "feminine hygiene" section of the supermarket or drug store. If there is not much leakage, you can get really thin ones that can't be seen from outside but can keep your underwear and clothes from getting soiled.

Good luck and I hope you are able to find a solution to this problem.

I'm not sure I fully follow....is it just a little bit, then there's no diarrhea later?

You might need to see a proctologist to have your sphincter checked out, or it could be some kind of intolerance to the supplement you take.

If it is diarrhea, you might be repeatedly contamnating yourself with some kind of bacterium....Do you always wash the container you make your supplement in & things like that?

You could potentially be lactose intolerant also. Or intolerant to something you're taking in.

Last but not least is the idea of celiac disease...look it up and see if you have other symptoms.

if your bowels are already loose then the metamucil/fiber
should not be taken=also you could have an infection in your bowels=keep drinking the water as you need it=cut back on the juices -see a Dr

I'm not a real doctor, I only play one on TV. I think you should go before congress and testify for national health care.

Look you are young and workout. I really feel that you can not take guesses from non-medical answerers....please do yourself a serious favor :- go see a gastro-enteric specialist, whether you have insurance or not........
