Pick a type of reaction to research, perhaps
reduction/oxidation. Find out what is going on in those reactions and why, and discuss applications. If it's a fairly long paper and the depth expected is not above a college freshman level of understanding, it should make for a decent report.

Describe life. Mention Krebs cycle for the energy. Mention the amino acids (structure noted) that go into the genome and state how they 'program' life. Mention 'state' of matter and how everything that makes up our existance runs on chemical reactions. Mention all the senses and how they run on chemical reactions and the electrical impulses that travel on our nerves actually rely on chemical reactions. Do most of this and you should have something to give you an "A" and maybe even a career choice.
