I have a 98 chevy K1500 silverado. If I have the warning flashers on when the braked are applied the warning flashers go off. Nothing else, just the warning flashers. Any Ideas on what the problem might be?

That is correct and it's not a problem. The emer flashers flash the brake lights because they are brighter for one, and the brake light wire goes to the turn signal switch in the steering column, as does the 4 way flasher power switch. Your front turn signal lights are tied in there, too. When the 4 ways are on and you hit the brakes, the front turn signal lights stay on, too. And if in normal driving, one side turn signal does not flash and the turn signal light in the dash stays on without flashing, that is a warning that a bulb is blown out on that side

I don't think there is a problem and I believe that is a safety for drivers that drive with the flashers on and want to warn the drivers behind that they are stopping otherwise the driver in the rear would hit you in the rear because the flashers would be saying nothing!

That is the way they are designed to work. The element in the bulb is the same element used for the stop light. Your brake light should be on while applying the brake if the tail lights go out while applying the brake then you have a problem.
