i, personally wanted the US to keep exploring space and moon but the politicians thought it was too expensive. after pres. kennedy's dream of going to the moon was honored, the politicians said they needed the money for other things, like the viet nam war.

There is nothing interesting in the moon.
Just kidding.
Because we know most of things about moon and we don't need go there anymore.
Beside it need too much money.

1. We had explored it as much as possible given the technology at the time.

2. There was resistance to funding NASA exploration given the US economy at the time.

3. The next step, long-term lunar habitat, is (a) not quite technically ready and (b) must serve a useful purpose such as learning to use lunar resources (this is why there was such excitement a couple years ago when a possible quantity of water ice was detected at the lunar south pole).

Well what really is the point...think about it... theres nothing is space...it costs a bundle to go out there...you think human beings are cool just cause they can spend liek 50 billion $ to go into outerspace, pick their nose for a while, and come back?

Way too expensive and the politics turned from space to social programs so the money went there.

MONEY and lack of public interest. Very few people understand the fantastic amount of good that has come from the space program.

It became to expensive. Plus, it's dangerous because of space junk.
