I have a science assignment and i have no idea how to work out the atomic weight. plz help, thanx!

The atomic weight of magnesium (Mg) = 24.31 grams/mole.

Magnesium is element #12. Atomic mass is the same as atomic weight.

Magnesium~atomic # 12, symbol Mg, atomic weight~24.312
Look under 'elements' page in the dictionary.

Search periodic table. The atomic weight is under the symbol for the element.
