The gas released is carbon dioxide CO2. The reaction is:

NaHCO3 + HCl → NaCl + H2O + CO2 (gas)

I am thinking that this would release the same gas as when I mix Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) and Vinegar. Which is CO2
