so... My mom made some pork chops and some how a piece of papery/platicy thing (probably a wrapper from the pork chops) ended up in the oven.

Well, obviously, it made the house smell terrible and what not, but could it be harmful to us?

OH! And my mom ate one of the porkchops!!

How concerned should I be? I Have two little dogs here, can they get sick?

It is not good to burn plastic as it releases products we would rather avoid, but we are exposed to many things in our environment through food additives and fertilizers and pesticides on food to pollution from cars and industry. I would not worry about tonights little fire. Air out the house. Let the dogs have the meat if you don't want it, they eat worse outside. They won't get sick. Don't be overly concerned.

lol! lemme tell you, i ended up burning the plastic on the end of the teapot because i fell asleep and it was so horrible and thick grey smoke. Unless you inhaled a huge amount it shouldn't be that harmful. It can be toxic but that's usually because it's a carcinagen. too much could cause lung problems and cancer. my two cats who were out at the time are fine too.
