Do you mean Correcum? now, I haven't found any reference about a French place with that name.
Have you double checked the spelling? How about giving us some help with the context of this word? That would help.

That is not a Latin word, as far as I can tell. Perhaps it is spelled wrong?


Correch is a French word, but I can not tell exactly what it means. It appears to be a surname and it is used for street names (Rue de Correch). I do not think it was ever the name of an actual town. "In loco Correcho" might have just been referring to the place where a family named Correch lived, as the area might not have been a town back in 844. I found nothing on the internet about it.

It appears to be both a Scottish and a Spanish surname, as I found references to the name on heraldry websites, and streets are often named after people. But it is definitely not Latin.

I read Jeannie's answer, but i'm not really sure that rue de Correch, sound a french word.
