If you are planning on keeping this system for a awhile, the larger the better. This way, you'd have less of an issue with having too many saved games or downloadable content on your system.

If you don't plan to buy many games, or utilize Internet-based content to download, save your money and get the 40 GB.

the 60gb looks better because it has the crome. But i don't really care cause its only a bit of plastic but the 60gb one has a sd slot and more connectivity and if you plan to have your ps3 wireless it is best to get the 60gb cause the 20gb only has an ethernet port. If you like gaming alot and save alot of games, it is best to get the 60gb. It depends how often you use your game console and if you care that it does't have as much stuff as the 60gb. I would have the 20gb because i would't be on my ps3 that much

By the way, it's 20GB not 40.

I have the 60gb and I think it is definitely necessary since many games will be coming out in the future.
