H2 + 1/2O2 ----> H2O

I don't think it is because it would be difficult to get half a mole of O2 but I'm not sure. Also, is it reversible? Isn't it called electrolysis or something when you break apart water into hydrogen and oxygen? Thanks for your help!

im' not sure if it is 'favorable'...but if there is a problem, it wouldn't be O2 (it's every where in the air) Hydrogen is what's not that easy to get... but once u have hydrogen, u just need to burn it (with a match!) and u'll have water...

The equation is correct. When it involves formation, it is the formation of ONE mole of product from its elements. So u have to divide 02 by half. The reverse does not occur spontaneously. Electrolysis is correct. It is the method used to break apart the strong intra-molecular forces in water. Boiling only breaks the inter-molecular forces.
