False - generally in order for energy to increase in any process it is necissary to for that process to get the energy from some source.

Generally in natural processes, there is a transition from higher energy to lower energy as entropy increases and it moves back to its state of equilibrium

False. Pretend there is a huge boulder on top of a hill...gravity will pull the boulder down to the ground unless there is something keeping that boulder in place. Keeping the boulder from falling requires some input of energy to overcome gravity right? This is the higher energy state.
The boulder on the ground is the lower energy state (ground state). It is preferred simply because it requires less energy.

OK maybe its a silly example but it helps to think of these things as simply as possible.
