1. what type of reaction is it when NaHCO3 (baking soda) and HC2H3O2 (vinegar) is combined? [I think it is double replacement reaction, but not sure.]
2. What is the product?
3. What is the balanced equation (with phase labels)
4. How do you read NaHCO3 and HC2H3O2 other than baking soda and vinegar? ( i think one of them was sodium bicarbonate or something like that)

Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and aqueous acetic acid (vinegar)

NaHCO3 (s)+HC2H3O2(aq)>NaC2O2(aq)+H2O(1)+ CO2(g)

mixing the two together produces carbon dioxide...in the above the #s should be below the line but I don't know how to do that on the computer :(...also it has been a few years so please don't hold me to this! I showed my son how these two things reacted together when he was young. I made the mistake of showing him in the back yard after digging a small hole, mounding the dirt and adding food coloring...the result of course was a volcano....well, 2 hours later the yard looked like we had been hit by a herd of gophers!...I showed my Grandson when we were at the beach...it saved my yard. I did however show him that the resulting gas (carbon dioxide) can blow up a balloon.

I think it is an acid base reaction. The vinegar is the acid so it loses a proton (H+).
I think gaseous CO2 is formed as well as liquid H2O. The Na+ will neutralize the negatively charged CH3COO-.
The reagents should be on a one to one ratio.
It's a reaction between sodium bicarbonate and acetic acid (usually written as CH3COOH to show how the atoms are connected). The H attached to the O is the one that is lost.

CO2 gas and water

gas, liquid and precipitate.

Bicarbonate of soda is correct.
