"MERIDA, Mexico - President Bush pledged Wednesday to intensify his push for languishing immigration legislation, standing alongside Mexican President Felipe Calderon who acknowledged he has relatives picking vegetables in the U.S.

Calderon said the family members pay taxes in the United States and "probably handle that which you eat, the lettuce, etc." But he avoided saying whether they were there legally."

Do you think this influences his views on US immigration?

Look, DAR. It migth influence his view of immigration, but in Mexico we all have someone near from us, who have had to go to work and live in the USA.
It migth be relatives, or friends, maybe they are not close relatives, but in Mexico we use to mantain close relations even with those relatives that are not in the first or second degree.
So, the president of Mexico has an insigth just as any other person in this country. We are concerned with this issue, as much as you do, have you realized that mexican people always try to keep close to the family, we enjoy the company of our family so much, wich makes really dificult for us to have those people so far away.
If they go there is because the lack of oportunities in Mexico is a reality, and i know it's our reality, not your problem.
But is a natural behaviour of human being do whatever it takes to have a better life. The history of humanity have shown it to us.
And you should know that better than anyone, since the USA is full of people who have emigrated from some other part in the world looking in America that better life that can be achieved in there.
And that is happening in here with Mexico and South and Center America and the USA, but it's happening as well with Marroquies that goes to work to Spain.
Calderon expressed to your president, that he acknowledge that you have the rigth to protect your borders in the way you want to, and that all those decisions are in hands of the legislator.
But he had to say what we all know, that problem couldn't be solved with the wall or with more security. It can be solved if we get more productive inversions in Mexico, and if the migration gets to be ordered and enougth for the american producers to get the labor they need, and some of the workers get the work they need to live.
I'm sure you know some people who is immigrant and is working as hard as any of you, and that contributes as any other worker, with the economy of your country.
I'm sure there exists some of those immigrants that are there just making felonys, but they are not all of them, and they deserve the same punishment as any other delinquent, but not all of the immigrants are in that category. I guess that's what Calderon was trying to expose.
And he also pointed to another situation, wich is the narcotraficc, wich is another problem we have to share and work against in common, since we can figth againts the producers, but there will be someone else who take the risk cause the market is so big in the USA. So, here we go again, the link is not invented for us, that's a reality we should face and solve TOGETHER.

Calderon is just another corrupt politician, just like Fox and just like Bush. Revolution is whats needed, then Mexicans can reform the government and there won't be any need to come over here and work hard just so you can be deported by people who say you are nothing but a criminal that comes over here to steal from them. Then there won't be anyone left to blame.
