It depends on what you want to get out of the military. Talk to each branch's recruiting office to see what they're like. I'm not sure what type of person you are, but ask them what the typical tour (not just a day) would be like, both on the job and off, and see which best fits your personality. If you still have trouble deciding, get more information like what type of sign on bonuses does each branch offer, if any, and what type other incentives they have such as do they have a college fund that supplements the gi bill (Each branch covers Gi Bill at least). You can get a lot of money for college this way, if this is important to you. Also, make sure that if you have type of job in mind to perform in the military, ask the recruiter if they can guarantee that job for you. If they can't guarantee it, you may end up doing something you don't like for a while.

P.S. If you do know what you want to do in the military, and the recruiter gives you some sort of acronym for a training program that he or she says that will fit your desirable job, make sure that you know exactly what training is done in the school program, you may get cheated like I had. You can take your time with this.

There is no "better" We all have our jobs to do. Army on the ground, Navy at sea and Air force in the air. We're all equally as good as the other.

Been in the navy it sux, I'd do the air force if I were you, they don't advance as quickly though. If you like the ocean and don't mind getting seasick join the coast guard you can watch the Guardain and see what some of them might go through. The Army and Marines go straight to Iraq or anyplace in the middle east, it is hotter than hell there. Don't join unless your positive, absolutely positive you agree with what's going on there.

What type of poerson are you? If you are not as physical and don't really want to do anything join the Air Force. If you want to lead the way then Join the Marines. If you want to clean up the marines mess then join Army. Do not join the navy EVER!

it truly depends on what youwant out of the experience. I would suggest making a list of what you want from the military. Start with advanced pay grade, enlistment bonus, job training, length of enlistment, and anything else you can think of. Then talk to recruiters of all branches to see what they have to offer on your list. Next talk to people who have served to confirm what the recruiter tells you. If you have any questions concerning the Navy, my email is avaiible through yahoo questions and I'm sure many of the other answerers to your question here will have no problem answering questions about thier own branch of service. Good Luck.

This is all a matter of opinion, so you can't really expect to get a "right answer" per say.

Every branch has its pros and its cons! Please ignore people that say, "well if you want to fly, join the AF" (only a *very* small percentage of our personnel fly-- and the Navy actually has more planes than the AF) or "if you don't want to go to Iraq, join the Navy" (Navy is in Iraq, so you *can* deploy here).

Personally, I love the AF and what it has offered me.

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to fly or work on airplanes don't join the Army. If you want to drive a tank don't join the Navy or Air Force. If you want to be a medic, join any of them.

Better for what?

Air Force - quality of life
Navy - education & travel
Marines - blood & guts
Army - options and averages of other services

Just my slightly informed opinion. No insults intended.
