If someone goes out drinking, or has been drinking liquor, why do they smell like liquor? It's not like they are bathing in it or pouring it all over themselves. They are drinking it. When I drink Coke, I don't smell like Coke. What is the secret?

For two reasons:

Your body sweats it out leaving an odour
The alcohol gets absorbed into your lungs and you breathe it out.

If you drink enough coke, you would smell like coke, but coke does not have as distinct of a smell as liquor does. When people each lots of garlic, or onion, they smell like garlic or onion. Your body sweats out what is inside. That's how it works. Liquor just has a very strong smell, and often people drink lots of it.

Alcohol actually goes INTO the blood stream!! Which is what causes the person to become drunk. Oxygen is replaced by the alcohol - leaving less for the brain and other organs.

So if alcohol is in your bloodstream, then it is close to/part of the skin, and you will be able to smell its distinctive odor.

Some things sweat out your pores more than other things. I know people who sweat garlic when they eat food with a lot of it. That's really nasty smelling.
