If the before mass is the tare, then the yield is:

51.433 g - 51.362 g

Check out the site below for a list of both aldehyde and alcohol stretching frequencies. Compare these with you spectrum of the product.

The broad band O–H stretch (hydrogen bonded) at 3500-3200 cm-1 is the biggest difference, but there are others.
