Which is a better laptop brand with good qualities and is affordable?

SONY. Sony VAIO. The latest range has colours such as light green, pink, blue, silver, and so on! Choose the colour u like. It may come with Windows Vista! Check with your local Sony dealer now.

Compaqs are cheaper then the other two and Sony is good but one with lots of memory and Intel Pentium will be costing you well over $1500....
I recommend HP-- Good quality and affordable!
Go on-line and check out the sales in best buy and circuit city.. You can get a good HP laptop with high memory, intel pentium w/ window vista for under $800

I believe that HP is the better of the three when you weight price and qualities together. I find that Sony is really good but the price is too high, and Compaq is cheaper but is inferior to the others.

Sony are good but very expensive. Dell make a good laptop starting at $599. The Inspiron 1501. HP/COMPAQ are the same company and their systems are pretty cheap but they have poor customer support.

I thought that HP and Compaq had combine. Sony is cute and small. I think the market not is mostly Compaq, cos the price is low.

HP and Compaq merged, so they're essentially the same, now. I have a Compaq, and my fiance has an HP. We love them both. Never had a single problem with either of them.

Hp is a good brand. But if u goes on look and there is not budget problem for u then Sony is the best and good looking

Personally I like HP easier to troubleshoot and comes with a Recovery Console, but people are different. Ask some different friends, go into the forums for each and see what the problems are with each and always compare RAM, Memory, HDD storage and speed. If you want graphics and less viruses my buddy swears by MAC. I'm starting to wonder if he's right.

From the three I would pick HP its the best you can get with a cheap PC.
