How do you get into modeling?

Where do you go to get in? How do people know where to go?

Ok if you are not very tall and very skinny and very young forget it. Seriously. You need to be over 5'9", under 125 lbs, and under age 20. Set up an appointment at a modeling agency- but LISTEN to what they say. Its not really about being "pretty". It is about having a look they can sell. Also, have a friend take many pictures of you and study them so you can really see how your body looks when you pose. Finally getting a professional portfolio together with head shots is a good idea, but its very expensive.

Call a reputable agency in your area. Look in the phone book. They will usually tell you to send them a picture with your height, weight and dress size on the back. Ask what days they have an open call. Not every girl can be a model, do not go invest in head shots until the agency says they want to sign you. They usually want you to use their photographer anyway. Do not go to a modeling school, they are a rip off.

Adding....the answer before mine was correct. You have to be really tall (5'9" Kate Moss is a fluke) and really thin. Do not waste your time if you are not.

hard very hard...i've been asked so many times if i model because i have distinct eyes that are rare and change colors and because i'm tall i've been tall for a long time well i'm only 16 so its also a kind of natural thing that comes to you i go every year to a place called proscout its really expensive but its worth it.. umm i have contact numbers from agencies all over the world and every state in the us so if you want them just let me know i'd be glad to tell you but as for getting in just send your headshots to agencies and stuff if you want to know more about the business just tell me ok...

u need pictures of ur self in different poses or headshots. then take them to a agency..they"ll hook u up if ur what the client is looking for..aslso try local fashion shows they always r looking for volunteer models,who knows u mite be discovered..gl hottie
