yea, its fair.. Because people with money worked hard for it to earn it... As for poor people, they need to figure out a way to get to be rich as well... so they too can have the power... life is not fair but we have to work hard to make a change.. nothing is given... you have to earn it.

I am by no means rich, as a matter of fact you could say that I live (or have lived) at the poverty line....that's thing about American societ, the line is blurred between rich and poor (well, except for the "super rich")

People who live paycheck to paycheck sometimes have a poor attitude about money (even you're question is an example of this)

The rich are not much better (not all, but some).

I think if you worked for your money fair and square than what's wrong about that?

What I disdain is people who complain about "living paycheck to paycheck" but never realize that they are a slave to materialism...why are they living paycheck to paycheck, is it that have fallen on hard times? Or is it because they want to afford an extreme lifestyle?

Otherwise I think "being poor" (as you define it) can be a blessing...because it can be an opportunity to learn. If you we take that opportunity and also learn to express gratitude for what we DO have. You see, as far as I am concern none of us are "poor" (not in the sense that we think, anyway.)

Even in poorer countries, if as individuals we are smart enough to recognize what is of true value and still live a quality life than that is all that matters.

We all need to look at "wealth" differently, reevaluate our lives and help others.

Sounds like you have wealth/class envy. So, I should give you money out of my wallet which I earned by working? I already do that anyway, it is called income taxes. Maybe those who are "rich" are that way because they have power over their money.

Do you do/have this...
Cel phone
PC
home internet (broadband maybe)
cable tv
Go out to eat
Consume alcoholic beverages
Make car payments
Own a late model car

Well, the above are all luxuries. If you are still living paycheck to paycheck after cutting all those out, you have a bigger problem than your paycheck

It has nothing to do with fairness. Money automatically gives power to those who have it and rich people naturally feel more secure and confident.

That is why they are also more polite and more pleasant to be with.

i don't know what power the rich have, they have more options and if that makes them powerful, then it's fair if they earned their money and can do things the poor can not.

If you keep on being jealous of the wealthy you'll never be among them. Yes, it is fair that people are able to reap the benefits of their labors.
