The commercials say Wisk which has been around for ever. But, ordinary cheapo shampoo works just as well. It breaks down the sweat which attracts the dirt in the first place. For old stains, you need Fels-Naptha Heavy Duty Laundry Bar Soap. Its about $1.25 now and will last forever. Just wet the bar and rub the stain working it up into a lather. Let it sit for a couple minutes before laundering as usual. The stuff just can't be beat as a spotter and works great on perspiration stains , too. I use it for everything, it's cheaper than Shout and any of the other commercial preparations.

Simple Green or Oxy clean. Both remove anything. I have also heard shampoo works but I have never used it.
