I have already learned that using hot water and the dryer set on high helps, but any other advice is welcomed! Thanks for your time :)

They are not going to shrink unless they are 100% cotton. Even then they are usually pre-shrunk. Most scrubs are a cotton blend and it doesn't matter how hot the water or dryer is they will not shrink.

If they are 100 % cotton they will shrink by washing in very hot water and putting in a very hot dryer. As soon as you take them out of the dryer iron them this one time. If you have some polyester 10 or 20 % in with cotton they will still shrink but will keep there shape better. A guy might have no trouble shrinking them. I know my husband would have no problem. he he

Well using hot water does work. But see you don't have to shrink them all you have to do is roll them up at the waist to where it feels comfortable.

put them in the dryer and put it on high so they can shrink
