Norton like Mcaffee will ruin your computer. May I suggest www.mwti.net Since starting to use it I have had no problems of any kind and it doesn't take over your computer like Norton will.

You should go to the Norton website to download versus using the disc. It doesn't seem to be ready for vista yet. Not a lot of things are, actually and it's quite frustrating as I'm sure you know!

If I were you, I would just uninstall it & forget it, because the trouble you are having right now is just the tip of the ice berg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would get
AVG FREE Edition 7.5 anti virus program & AVG FREE edition of anti malware, both down-loadable at Grisoft.com. I have had these for 2 years & no viruses or spyware, and another even better anti spyware one is SpyBot Search & Destroy 1.4 .It is really good. Since the free version of AVG anti virus has no firewall, I use Windows Defender from Windows security section in Windows Market Place. That way, your protection is free & you are better protected than with Norton. Norton will all but take over your computer. I had Norton & it nearly set me nuts !

Thee are known issues with Vista if you are not running at least Symantec 2007. Even if you are, Vista is not a finished product. Wait for at least one service pack.
