No matter how much, how long I scrub, I cant get our tub to come clean, It looks NASTY! Ive tried every cleanser known to man...and its still looking gross! I even bought those Mr.Clean Erasers...great for taking off my sons Artwork, on my walls, lol.
I even tried this stuff you can paint on and it kinda does a Faux Re-Sealing...after about 3 mths, its started peeling and got gummie, now we have a unforgiving clog in the tub(its like clue) Thank goodness , hubby is a Plumber...Thanks for those who are able to give some TIPS!
Also, we DONT want to spend all the money it cost to resurface the tub.

If it is water stains try Lime Away the thick gel it stays put let it set for a few minutes. I use the Mr Clean bathroom and tub scrubber I do not replace the head I use all that stuff up and use the pad with no soap in it to scrubb the Lime Away do not mix chemicals and I would also where rubber gloves and open a window or leave door open. I only have to use this once in while normal cleanings work in between. I have cleaned empty houses for 20 years and run into all kinds of problems if bleach does not work Lime Away will!

I clean houses part-time, and use Comet. For tougher stains, I use Barkeeper's Friend, a similar product, but a little pricier and harder to find. I usually can get it at WalMart. Works great on brass. If it's hard water stains, then maybe CLR as another responder suggested, or Lime-Away. But if it's an old bathtub, it may be a lost cause and refinishing or replacing is the answer. Scratches build up over time, making it harder to clean and more scrubbing just adds to the problem.

CLR is a great cleaner for getting water stains off of shower doors that are glass. It would work good for getting all calcium, lime and rust stains. Hence the name CLR! My answer would've been Soft Scrub Gel bleach, but I don't know if you'd be allergic to that as well. Check the ingredients, if you're ok with it, that would be the way to go. I use it on our showers and tubs and they're not tiles, they're that other type I don't know the name of. But they look perfect when i'm done.

First, get a shower curtain that you can tape shut so nothing gets out.
Second, fill the bathtub with warm soapy water.
Third, go to your local animal shelter and borrow a dog and about 6 cats.
Fourth, toss the cute little housekeepers into the tub, and secure the curtain.
Wait until all the noise lowers a bit, return the critters, and the tub should be very clean!

Have you tried lemon juice or baking soda? The acid from the lemon tends to eat away at the mildew and build up and the baking soda acts as a scrub. You can make a paste with baking soda and lemon juice and scrub it onto the surface and let it sit up to a hour before you wipe/scrub it away. I don't have a recipe for it but you put some baking soda into a bowl and add enough lemon juice to make it into a paste like gel tooth paste. Hope that helps..

Comet or Ajax always has worked well for me. Just wet your tub, sprinkle a lot of it on there and take a scrubbing brush and go to town on it. Should come off rather easily without damaging your tub - whether its ceramic, plastic, vinyl, or whatever.

Have fun and let me know if this tip helped!

I personally use AJAX or COMET. Gets the tub gleaming every time!

Borax
Baking soda
Electrosol
Goo gone

And I read a post from a guy who used an engine degreaser.
