Table salt, sodium chloride, is an ionic compound, which conducts in a melted liquid state or dissolved in water.

Yes indeed, when it disoolves in water it form an electroloyte
NaCl......> Na ion with a positive charge and Cl ion with a negative charge. Thus it is an ionic bond
